I'm finished with Kingdom Alliance and I didn't see an answer to my question. Who is Vilmos's mother?
In Keeper Martin's Tale, Xith tells Vilmos:
"Many years aog, I made a promise to a young couple who were very much in love. Five years they had been wed and still they had no children. They so wanted a child. I told them of a girl heavy with child in need of caring hands.
"The girl, your mother, needed a secluded place to stay, a place where none knew her or that her child was without a father. Death by stoning is the punishment for such a child and mother.
"I told the couple they must harbor the child's mother and see that the child entered the world without harm. Afterward the child would be theirs to keep and raise as their own. I also told them there was a price. One day I would return for the child. Until that day the child was in their care..."
So here Vilmos is told about his birth mother. Why was it important that no one knew her? Did I miss more clues as to who his mother is? What gives?
I was very intrigued by this as well. I have been watching for clues in the books to, I think I have found a few. When you are on your second or three reading let me know if you still don't see them.
i've been thinking on this many times. i thought at first i had it now i don't know. the only clues i saw were the way Xith reacted when a certain someone was around Vilmos. that's all i know.
I think it's important too... I was thinking maybe one of the key families or perhaps one of the under-earth elves, like some dark elf blood because of his dark magic.

I've read each book several times, that's what I'd recommend as I think there are clues. I was thinking similar to edog with regard to dark elves and such.

I was giving that a lot of thought I don't know anymore about him being part dark elf or such. More likely part demon or something else from under earth.
