I didn't know that. That would be a great idea to create a Ruin Mist movie.

Fan movie would be cool! There's so many awesome parts of the story that could be adapted. I'd like to see it.

I completely agree with tammyk - only dumb books ever get made into movies. As cool as a movie like King Kong was, I sooooooooooooo tired of hollywood remakes too. Did anyone actually like Ocean 11 enough so there's 2 sequels?

Not sure I saw the first one even, but seems like remakes are done because they're almost sure bets. If you remake a movie like King Kong you don't have to worry no one heard of it before. Everyone's heard of King Kong. It's why they'll keep reinventing Batman, Superman, etc etc forever. Not a bad thing necessarily, but not necessarily a good thing either.

Boring thing, it is, however. The new Batman was OK, but not better than the Tim Burton's classic. Kimg Kong and Superman were dumb, though, as well as Godzilla. I think that fantasy is the hot new thing. LotR proved it, HP and Narnia proved it, too. I believe that Ruin Mist could be very successful, too.

Remaking the same movies every 20 years or so is a Hollywood tradition. It is boring. Plus some movies should never be remade because the originals are such classics. But like you said they do it because they're sure things.
Fantasy is the hot new thing but I think it's going to stay hot for a long long time. Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Narnia were only the beginning. SciFi had a good 30 year run at it. Now it's time for Fantasy. I keep waiting for the cable company to announce a new Fantasy channel. It's time.
