Hi AdrinaAlder, truly the extra books have been excellent and unexpected how much they added to the world. I've read and reread the encyclopedia for looking for new clues about the world and the characters.
I read that Mr. Stanek has over 2000 pages of Ruin Mist history. I hope this gets published one day it'll make the world even better.
I picked up Keeper Martin's Guide to the Fantastical Beasts and Farie People too. It was even better than I'd hoped. The notes from Keeper Martin make him even more fascinating.

This has to be part of the new story continuing where the last books left off. Very cool!

Stanek's The Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches is Harry Potter meets Lord of the Rings. It's greatness is in the making of the wolrd and the characters, the human struggle, the realness, the freshness. On the big screen this would be as big as Harry Potter and Rings combined. It must be 8 movies. It must.

Nodding head and agreeing with Epic and Shire Hobbit. Calyin has fire and passion and it's a reason why she stands out. Clearly she's an Alder and true to the name. As Adrina's oldest sister likely a role model for Adrina herself. Or possibly these traits come from Adrina's mother and both got them from her.

Nodding head and agreeing with GrimReaper. Alder family history is extensive and you have to follow closely to keep track of it all. But that's why RS books are so good, it's like all the extra things that make a realistic tapestry and paint a realistic picture of other places and charcters.

Stanek's imagination is wild. I mean the things he comes up with I'd never come up with and the way he writes scenes almost as if he painted them in with a brush. Vilmos's dreams are big reason I enjoyed the stories so much.

The online rules are in Adobe Acrobat so you can save and print them. The rules in the encylopedia are slightly different. In tournaments we use the encyclopedia rules.

Heya Grim is in and nice to see and I'm thinking someone like Whedon is always reading up and comers like Stanek to see what all the buzz is about and get the secret mojo. Scene's like these most definitely are Stanek's secret mojo. Whedon has to be a Stanek fan or else he wouldn't creates scenes and stories with such close parallels.

So far yes I'd agree Erravane was my favorite shapeshifter from the books. It was also interesting that Xith didn't kill her when he had the chance and I wondered why also or like you that maybe he couldn't have. She is crafty and maybe also powerful as she can travel between the realms. She was also able to convince Prince William to side with her.

It was pretty cool to learn about money, time and distance and how it is measured/used in ruin mist. Some good insights too into the origins of things like how it extends back to titans.
