I want to get another thread going like the excellent Titans & Eagle Lords thread.
Like titans and eagle lords, Stanek has a unique vision for shapeshifters in his world. The wolmerrelle are like reverse werewolves. They are wolflike creatures who shift into human/humanoid form. The most powerful are able to assume forms closest to humans. The less powerful and more beastly have many heads. These traits sets them apart from all other fantasy shapeshifters/werewolves. They are real with their own mythos, as real as Stanek's goblins, elves, dragons and eagle lords.

Yes, 3 companion books
Keeper Martin's Guide to the Fantastical Beasts and Creatures of Ruin Mist Illustrated Ruin Mist Encyclopedia Art of Ruin Mist: The Heroes and the Villains
I have now read through all 3 and can tell you they are all worthwhile. The best for fans is the Encyclopedia of Ruin Mist. The Keeper Martin's Guide is good but expensive. If a publisher like Harper or Scholastic republished the books, then they could be much less expensive and more accessble to readers.

Shire Hobbit, I think you are correct. It was the daughter not the mother. See Jarom was promised to Adrina's sister but something happened and she broke it off. Then Adrina's sister went to the priestesses, something like the equivalent of a young girl being sent to be a nun. Adrina's sister also became the black sheep of the family.

What Epic said! Stanek's goblins, elves, dragons and shapeshifters are indeed unique. They aren't just monsters or such. They are real. Erravane has to make a comeback. It doesn't get much better than an evil shapeshifting queen out to rule the world!

The right director WOULD make this huge, huger than LOTR for sure. For casting, who should star in the movies? It'd be a big cast and the villains would have to be as well cast as the heroes. Like I hope Erravane and her shapeshifters get a huge role. They are key to the first two books and for sure they have to be coming back.

Rider, I always wonder about that too! I see it on the map every time I'm looking at places in the world.
Drifan, truly would be cool to be able to play across the world. Hopefully be able to one of the days. It'd make all us true fans happy for sure.

It'd be just as good as a tv series. Truth is there's ample materials for multiple seasons of television. I think there've been a few tries at fantasy tv series but ruin mist would be the one with the storylines to carry it particularly in how RS crafted the threads. They work well in any format.

Exactly what Sparhawk said. Stanek's vision for goblins, elves, dragons and the rest is different deeper than most. The history in the encyclopedia sets it all apart too.

Back on to lost an restored scenes, I found a bunch of them in the in the special illustrated editions. The kingdoms 1 has the most and there are some I know of in kingdoms 2.
On Sathar and the dragon king, it'd be wicked cool to see their origins if that's what dawn of the ages is about.

Where did you see it? I looked for it but can't find it. I'd also like to know what's the difference. It'd make sense if he made changes for the later books. King did the same but that would kind of imply the series was done. But it isn't out yet.
