There is a lot of action in RAS books and his character are very likable, especially the main character Drizzt. The books are not as deep as books by Stanek, but are fun to read.

Evenstar, Icewind Dale is a very good fantasy trilogy. I like it very much.

R. A. Salvatore is a great author. His most popular books are about Drizzt do'Urden, the famous Dark Elf. The story is set in the popular Forgotten Realms universe and it is about the drow-renegade Drizzt do'Urden, who is fighting with evil people and wizards. The first trilogy about him is "The Icewind Dale". In a dead and dangerous valley, Drizzt and his friends must stop a maddened sorcerer. But even if they succeed, terrible danger is lurking to the halfling Regis - a mysterious and merciless assassin. The second trilogy is "The Dark Elf". It is the story of the young Drizzt do Urden. It is better than Icewind, at least in my opinion. My fave RAS books, though, are not about Forgotten Realms. I prefer the "Demon Wars Saga", a gripping fantasy about a world, where the tyrannical Church is controlling the live of many innocent people... while an ancient demon is actually conthroling the Church. Great read.

By the way, I read recently "The Subtle Knife" by Philip Pullmam ("His Dark Materials" trilogy, book 2) and I am still troubled. The book is very original and interesting, but the ideas of the author are confusing. Has anyone read this book?

Evenstar, you won't be disappointed. "The Malloreon" is a spectacular sequel-series. You'll love it. It's more complex and interesting than "The Belgariad"; and sometimes scarier. It gave to me wonderful hours of joy and entertainment, and tension. It is great.
