In another thread rohan says it'd be great to see all 4 movies but would it be 4 movies or 8? Im thinking is itd be best to see them as RS meant them to be read

Hi gatefan great thinking. Seems like there's plenty of material. Either way we'd have to wait to see what Hollyweird does. If they ever stop remaking remakes of 50 year old movies!

I doubt they'll ever stop making stupid remakes. Look at a movie like Ocean's 11. It was bad the first time, awful the second. They're still coming out with a third one aren't they?
My thinking is Ruin Mist would make a great movie series. On most levels it'd be better than the Harry Potter movies and look how much they've made. Ruin Mist has been mysteries, better drama, better action. So where's the movies already?
my vote would be for 8. One for each of the books as RS intended them to be published.

Four 3-hour movies would be amazing - a one up to the current 3 LotR. BTW I hate all the remakes too. I think remakes are cheap to do though so that's probably one reason. The originals are proven commodities is probably the main reason though but that doesnt mean the remake'll be any good. Give me a ruin mist movie anyday over a remake.

Not all remakes are bad necessarily, but lately it they have been. A ruin mist movie or two or three would be preferable any day to a remake. Any seen spidey 3 yet? Is it any good?

I'm with dragonlord on this one, there's ample materials for 4 fantastic 3-hour movies. The Ruin Mist books would make for an excellent theatre experience, much better than Harry Potter at any rate. If the books weren't so phenominal fans of other authors wouldn't need to keep beating them down with nasty reviews.

I couldn't agree more. Who'd direct? Someone with connections to George Lucas and Lucas's graphics studios were be excellent.

I'd like to see someone new like with Lord of the Rings and Peter Jackson. A new studio and a fresh producer could make the movies stand out.

Peter Jackson was a surprise for Lord of the Rings sure would be good to have such a good surprise for the ruin mist movies. Still say also there has to be 8 movies as RS intended with his books.

No way if you're going to do it right it would be better as fewer movies. Like with 7 movies you could get through all the intros and the first big battle then dig into all the other way cool stuff through the next 6 movies. Peter Jackson??

Back to Peter Jackson again? Wouldn't seem to be the right choice! I do agree though there would have to be 6 or more movies to get in all the great storylines. They'd all be like 3 hours too.

What's wrong with Peter Jackson or if not him his production company. it'd be a no brainer for someone like that to take on the ruin mist movies. I'd do it in 7 movies!! Here's why because of how the first two books hook together to tell the bigger story and then how each of the next ones tell their own story. i'd agree it would be easy 3 hours for each movie and at the end of it we could have 20 hour ruin mist marathons
