Hi folks. You wouldn't believe how incredibly jammed I am right now. Keeping up with all the deadlines I'm under is exhausting. Back from several recent book events, which were great. The response this time around was particularly pleasing. The best part was hearing from readers that enjoyed the books and from gamers that want to see rule books and campaign settings. That’s exactly what I was hoping to hear!
At the events, I got to meet several other authors and we had long chats, which I don't get to do often. I'm just too busy writing as are most other authors. The events were well attended and the best part is that many of the people had, or were, reading the books. Thank you everyone! Please keep talking, the word is finally getting out about this little world of Ruin Mist. So many people were Ruin Mist readers and I got some great questions about the books and the future of the world. A lot of readers like Myrial and Emel, so I really have to give more consideration to their stories!
I know everyone was looking forward to a live chat. Man, I was too. I also have to meet deadlines and I wanted to ensure that everyone could access the posts, which is why I wanted to make an interactive chat thread where board members could post questions about the books, talk about characters, say Hi, whatever.
Post your questions, say hi, talk in this thread. I will get back with responses.
Oh well, back to work!
The Fourth comes,
Robert Stanek

Mr. Stanek,
I have just finished reading The Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches and must say, Wow! It is a very well writen series and Vilmos now runs a very close race with Frodo as my favorite adventurer. I also favor Adrina and Seth. I am now reading Magic Lands Journey Beyond the Beyond and am sure it will be just as well written.
Here are my questions:
1. Any movie deals lined up? The Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches would make a great, great story. I believe it would rival Harry Potter and may even be as good as Lord of the Rings.
2. On to Adrina and Emel? Okay I know the books are written for wide ages but come on, give them some more time together or at least show more of Emel's angst. I mean he is in love with Adrina, right? Rudden Klaiveson would never have to know.
3. I read that you are working on RPG set in the world of Ruin Mist. Do you think other authors would write books set in this realm?
4. Will we ever see more of Prince William?

Hey Mr. Stanek,
Its me that guy who sends all those emails!!! I read your post and remember reading an interview you did a while ago that had a question about the characters. You said that Emel was never meant to be a main character but his story kind of started taking over. I am wondering what the original storyline you came up with was?
Thanks for the all support by the way, it is appreciated I do hope to be a writer someday. But I still have questions! Always more questions huh?
Are you going to post your book signing schedule soon?
I see e-signing. Does your book signing team ship to other countries?
***mod note: Umm come on guys please register if you're going to post. Then if you post make sure to take your time with it. Let's make this fun and easy for RS or else he might not want to do this anymore.***

Hello RS,
I was just looking at the RP website and I noticed about the Heroes and Legends of Ruin Mist book. I also read that you are a gamer and used to live in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin where AD&D was created. Did you know Gary Gygax? Is there any chance you will ever make game stats for Vilmos, Seth, Emel, Xith, Adrina, Myrial, et al? I hope you realize people are already role-playing in Ruin Mist. I realize that you probably would like to keep the books seperate from the gaming experience... However, vast numbers of readers are also gamers and want to use your characters into their games.
Thanks for your answers!

Mr. Stanek,
First of all thanks a bunch for starting this thread! It's really cool to get to ask the authors of your favorite books questions or just to chat with them. So here are some of my questions.
1. I know you have written outside the fantasy genre (including a mystery/thriller). Which do you like writing more? I'm hoping it is fantasy. Also on this subject do you enjoy books and movies outside of the field of fantasy?
2. I remeber hearing one time that when you wrote the first draft to Keeper Martin's Tale when you were in the military and that you would crank Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones while writing. Do you still listen to music while writing or reading? And if so what do you listen to?
3. I also remember reading somewhere that the reason you started writing fantasy was because of your fascination with classics like Treasure Island, Journey to the Center of the Earth and Lord of the Rings. Do you think reading those kinds of books early on helped you to become a writer?
Thank you for considering my questions!

I'm really glad you started the thread!!! Could you give me a quick description of your stories in Magic Lands & Other Stories? Are they fantasy, scifi? I'm a fan of both!
Thanks and I hope you and your family have a very happy holiday!

Will we ever see any more of Erravane? The changling has to be the funniest evil wench that I love to hate. Do you think she's ever going to get her child king?

Thanks for giving us the opportunity to ask these questions.
Lots of people I know like Seth but love Valam. In your opinion, what is it about Valam that appeals so much to people? Especially just after he and Seth were in the trios, he's amassed a huge following. What do you think about it?
Thanks LiquidxPop

Big fan been reading your novels since the The Kingdoms and the Elves first came out. Quick question for you though. In the future do you plan on writing more about Ray and Kerry and their world beyond the second book?

First of all, shame on me, I haven't read any of yor books still. I'm here to learn something about them, then (when I hav enough money), I'd buy them. Second, I want to tell you best greetings from the National Fantasy Club of Bulgaria - we are very happy to see that new Great Master of the Genre comes. My question is: You said that you know other fantasy authors. Who?
