Mr. Stanek
Having now read your books several times each I want to congratulate you on the wonderful work. Like others on the board I didn't realize the depth of the work until a second reading. Lots of pieces and clues come together. It makes it all the better.
Of many questions the main one is about Emel. It seems to me he may be out of the story now. As a fan of Emel I hope not, he is an exceptional character. I should like to see what he does when he is in the south. I hope it can be written into the story. I will miss Emel if he is gone.
Thank you again for giving readers an alternative to big corporate hash. Your growing success proves little fish can make it. I hope to one day as well.
Yours Truly
Lord of Dragons

Mr. Stanek,
My friends and me have a campaign going in Ruin Mist. We have a lot of fon roleplaying there. Any more news with RPG? Have you thought about letting fans do an unofficial roleplay book?
Also read somewhere the next magic lands books was supposed to be out. Is that true? I can't find it. I like Ray alot. He is the best.
Yours truly,
Brian

Mr. Stanek
I have so many questions now about what is next for the characters. Is it true Emel is gone from the story? I hope not. Can you tell more about the ancient times like when the titans rules? Can you tell about Soshi and what she is doing to Valam?
I have bought all the new edtions. Can you tell what hidden things to look for?
When is the next book? What is it about? Will we find out about the dragons?
Thank you

Mr. Stanek,
I like your books a lot. The stories are so interesting. I want to be a writer. I write my stories on paper. If I want to be published do I have to write on computer?
I like to know also how you thinkg of so many great ideas. Most books have 1 or 2 you have bunches.
How come your books don't sell like Harry Potter? They are tons better. You need a better publisher I think.

Mr. Stanek,
First off, thanks for taking the time to give back to your fans. Second, Vilmos is still the best! I guess my question is when will we find out about Vilmos' true origin? It sounds like he is a reincarnation of someone else. Will his mother be revealed in the next book as well?
One more and I'm done. It's not very relevent, but what was your favorite movie and/or book of the year?
Thanks again and keep up the good work, Evenstar

Dear Mr. Stanek
I have read Kingdoms and elves 5 times and Magic Lands 4 times. I am anxious to get the new book like everyone. My teacher Mrs. Lindsey said she saw you on television talking about your books. I was very interested to learn more about your life story. We are going to read one of your books as reading activity starting next week. I hope you would answer the our emails when we send them. It would be so neat.

Hello All,
Been a busy couple of months, good to be able to continue the chat. Here we go on to the questions...
Shire Hobbit, the pleasure is indeed mine. The board is quite well done, nothing is distracting. I suspect that's why it is the most popular message board for my work.
edog, you're most welcome. I truly enjoy hearing from fans although it is now nearly impossible to reply to every email I get. As far as a movie of Ruin Mist, we're very early in that, it's not outside the realm of possibility, there's been several discussions, without more creative control I won't accept any offers, however. Plus the fan base needs to be much bigger to make it work.
gMan, you've done a great job with the board, I really mean that. I've seen some other boards for my work, this is the coolest. Shh, don't tell anyone I said that, oops I'm posting this online, too late.
Hope more fans understand that, alternatives are needed, for me sticking with the small press was a choice, I've turned down offers from people who didn't want to take the time to understand my work, but did see dollar signs because of the growing popularity. Not that I wouldn't/won't take an offer in the future, it'd have to be the right one for the right reasons.
warrior25, without going into details, I think it is going to be delayed, I have completed the draft for Elf Queen and the King III, IV, Fields of Honor, expecting Spring 2005 publication. These will be the next Ruin Mist related books to be published.
Sparhawk, I have a particular fondness of Xith and Vilmos myself, many of the characters have some basis on real people, Vilmos included.
dragonlord, having heard from many readers who feared the same, rest assured Emel is not out of the story. He might not be back as soon as you'd hope however. You're welcome as well, good luck with your writing.
bl25run, many readers have created role-play campaigns based on the books, I think fine but I wouldn't want there to be an unofficial roleplay book. Progress is being made on official books, likely d20-based. Magic Lands #2 is called "Into the Stone Land" it was due out this year but given some unfortunate events, all the publication dates for the books got pushed back at least a year.
keeperofdreams, see previous on Emel, in the time of titans, elves and men were enslaved, giants, titans and dragons ruled. Best I can do on Soshi is tell you she is connected to the story in more ways than you might think. Soshi gave Valam a gift of sorts. Elf Queen and the King III, IV, Fields of Honor are next. As far as dragons, possibly.
GLH, suggest you read "Writer's Market" and get a book on manuscript writing, these days almost every writer uses a computer, very few write stories on paper any more, but if it works for you it works. Thanks for the compliment, sales of my books are good, I am happy with where they are. Harry Potter books have been around since 1997 so they've got a 5-year head start, not expecting to catch up any time soon.
Evenstar, some answers are in the upcoming books, for others the wait will be a bit longer. You may be on the right track for Vilmos, close to the mark so to say, a hint. The truth about his mother has been hinted, it will become more clear, and I hope very revealing about what is really happening in the story. The last movie I saw was Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, it was exceptional.
Trancemist, Elf Queen and the King III, IV, Fields of Honor are more about the world of Ruin Mist and the changes, some truths are revealed/hinted at. Others will be more clear in later books.
liquidxpop, good to hear, surprises me to hear how many times readers have read the books. Glad someone watched that show....it would be an honor to read and respond to your emails. If you send a group email or a couple that way it is easier for me.
Thanks to all the fans who continue to support my books! Until next time... Hope you'll tell your friends about the books.
The Fourth Comes!
Robert Stanek

RS,
Thanks for giving us the opportunity to ask questions. My question is about Midori. In the book Ruin Mist Heroes you say her given name is Delinna and Midori is the name she took when she became a priestess. Can you explain more on that?
Thanks Rogue
