Xith said that they were still going to continue their training so he can't be dead.

Trancemist if you're talking about the choosing I understand your thinking. I think Vilmos is too important to be gone from the story however. There are a lot of related threads open.

Vilmos is the man, I don't think Adrina left him hanging I think she left herself hanging you know

Adrina had a choice to make on account of her brother. She wasn't going to let Valam die knowing what she knew. I think we hae to wait to see what that means to everyone.

If it is about the Dragon King--most fascinating. As others have said the whole sequence from when Adrina gets the scroll to when she meets Vilmos in the tower to the Dragon King and the doors had me entranced.
Surprised not to see much comment on the Soshi incident or the trios?

Soshi freaked me out I mean totally. Never thought of that side of Valam until there it was. I like how RS puts in all the side stories and keeps them ging.

I enjoyed the trios, I couldn't wait to see what happened when Seth revealed himself. I wish he wouldn't have held back though.

i hope the trios are in the next books. it will be excellent. i want to see the "ultimate test of steel" i think Greer says that. i liked how it relates to Vilmos too. thats whats cool like how everything ties to everything. what about the warrior and woman Vilmos sees in his visions?

The warrior in the visions is interesting as it seems to be a part of Vilmos's new life. I'm not sure if it's supposed to symbolize something like with the black and white horses before he gets to the tower.
