Not sure how I would rank Goodkind, Jordan, Brooks. Haven't read any of their stuff lately. I completely stopped reading Martin / Erikson---both seem to attract very negative types of readers. I don't think all Martin / Erikson fans are f*ing ass*oles but it sure seems it. Other friends of mine have stopped reading Martin / Erikson for the same reasons.

With Stanek most definitely good balance and action. Agreed when Robert Stanek is brilliant, he's truly brilliant and can write some of the most dazzling scnes.

Exactly why I rate Staneks books with the Top 10 fantasies of all time. As a diehard fan they are at the top of the Top 10 list for me. You could argue my view is skewed but anyone whos giving this seris a fair shake would find it hard to stop coming back too read it every one in a while because its that good.

Hey DM welcome back seems like so quiet around here. Is everyone holiday paloozing or what?
I agree completely with the sentiment. Problem is most fantasy readers don't give RS anything close to a fair shake. I've read the series several times start to finish. I keep coming back because I miss the charactes and the world.
