Robert Stanek and Brian Jacques met at a book signing in Olympia, Washington. Brian came to Olympia thanks to an invite initiated by Robert back in 2003. Robert's whole family met Brian Jacques and the picture below shows Robert and his family, and Brian at the book signing. The photo was taken by Robert's wife. There's a very cool writeup, written by Robert, on Brian Jacques and his 2005 US Tour on the magic lands site: www.themagiclands.com/brianjacques.htmRobert has written a nice tribute to Brian and his Redwall books. He also talks about how Jacques got started writing. There's a list of all the Redwall books in series order to boot! I'm a new Redwall fan thanks to Robert. The first book is quite good and I'm moving on now to Mossflower.

Redwall is an OK book, but I prefer KE books.

Redwall was never my thing but I do plan on reading more of the books. The Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches books are on the other hand have much more detail with more interesting characters. Robert Stanekhas a gift for making his characters real like living breathing people.

its kind of hard to make mice who weild swords seem real. However, R.S does have a gift for making his characters so real.
