Hey! This is awsome news. Hopefully, the popularity boost that will come from this will finally score us a Ruin mist movie!

Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for Stanek's success. No other authors deserve it as much as he does. But I would be highly suspicious of Scholastic's motives given their track record. More likely they're just trying to figure out new ways to kill RS success.

With Stanek most definitely good balance and action. Agreed when Robert Stanek is brilliant, he's truly brilliant and can write some of the most dazzling scnes.

Back on topic? I first read Stanek's books awhile ago and it was the action that got me into the story as much as the characters. Eventually the world hooked to me too. I don't see how anyone who gives it half a chance wouldn't like it. Better than Jordan (who gets stuck in detail too much). Better than Goodkind (who's a little too twisted). Better than Brooks (who tends to be a little too simple)

Thanks for not spoiling it about 3 and 4. As for Stanek being better than Brooks, that's as sure as the sun rises. I've stopped reading Brooks altogether. In my lit classes, we're studying the classics, and I've tried to get discussion on Tolkien. My prof was very interested in Stanek's books when he saw me reading them, and thought they were "well written for fantasy" so long story short never got to discuss Tolkien but did get to discuss Stanek with the whole class.

Mr. Stanek,
I continue to be a loyal fan of your books. I've read all the latest books several times. My biggest question right now is what are the new series? Are there going to be battle for ruin mist novels and rpg? Is there dates for ruin mist dawn of ages?
Please never stop writing, I love your work. I've told everyone I know about it.
Paul

I must agree as well. I don't know how you can say tolkien's better though.

Probably through Xith's ancient past. They're both really old.

Everyone always seems to be talking about Valam or Adrina or Vilmos. How come not much talk about Stanek's great baddies? They never seem to get their due. They're not in the books much but they are incredibly cool, and well thought.
