Exactly why I rate Staneks books with the Top 10 fantasies of all time. As a diehard fan they are at the top of the Top 10 list for me. You could argue my view is skewed but anyone whos giving this seris a fair shake would find it hard to stop coming back too read it every one in a while because its that good.

Back on topic? I first read Stanek's books awhile ago and it was the action that got me into the story as much as the characters. Eventually the world hooked to me too. I don't see how anyone who gives it half a chance wouldn't like it. Better than Jordan (who gets stuck in detail too much). Better than Goodkind (who's a little too twisted). Better than Brooks (who tends to be a little too simple) Grim, couldn't agree more...a personal preference I thnk but if I had to rate the top 10 fantasy books all Stanek's books would be at the top, Goodkind wouldn't be and only certain of Jordan and Brooks.

Robert,
Me and like a million of my friends are hoping for gaming news. I'm still hoping the rules for the Ruin Mist RPG will come out soon. I read on the boards about a monster manual and TCG. Is it going to be d20 d&d or different?

Hi wally welcome to the boards! Depressing is sometimes good. For me I didn't like Martin because of too much violence and sex, but hey that's only my opinion. Everyone has different likes and dislikes.

So true fascinating characters + powerful creatures + great stories plus Tolkien Lewis Stanek all create worlds you just can't get enough of. thanks sparhark about the blog. I totally haven't checked it and it was a nice surprise like RS gave us a gift for the holidays. I totally appreciated it cause I know how busy he has to be shows how much he appreciates his readers

I didn't hear anything about Leguin and been a while since I read her books. Sorry. My question is how come RS fans so mcuh support CP but CP fans only support CP?

Yes it is amazing how each book gets better. Did any one see you can order In the Service of Dragons #3 now? I saw it on bn and an amazon. BN lets you add it to you cart not like a preorder. I'll let you know if I get it. Still waitng for #2. #1 was perfect.
