[/img]Taking opinions on the prelude of the new fantasy novel
Gollumeth - The Bloodline of Horredath
So far the response has been positive. I'd like to hear from more.
PRELUDE
Many years ago, a northern city of great power generously gave to its people and prospered from the wealth of honesty and compassion towards others. Ties were strong with many distant lands. Conflicts and confrontations were of the upmost rarity. The great king, Horredath, fell ill and shortly passed. Cellium, his son, immediately took power and vowed to rule for a new era. An era contrary to his father’s honest ways. The people of the north would not take to such drastic changes and politicians of the region knew this. The government desperately rushed to find Cellium a suitable bride in hopes to gain a new ally and distract the new king with joyous matrimonial celebration.
A family line of royal blood from the south offered up their most suitable daughter for unity. The daughter was overlooked for lacking beauty of the King’s perverse taste. The king was young and had no interest in what the council called a suitable woman, for he was inexperienced and saturated with pride. Offended by young Cellium’s lack of interest in royal ties and obsessive desire for young easy women, the southern bloodline plotted to extinguish the king from power. Despite the young king’s preoccupied days of overindulging and coveting, worry never passed his unfaltering eyes. Loyal spies of Cellium were quick to snuff out traitors and assassins.
The brothers of the southern princess attempted to assassinate Cellium for disrespecting their family. Foolishly underestimating the new King, they were captured and executed immediately. Their bodies were displayed upon erected timbers with chains, for others to see as a warning to never cross the King.
Sirell, the ruler of the south, became outraged to hear that his sons were slaughtered and displayed to rot in the sun of day. The south became heated and full of rage, for this new impious King in the north insulted mankind and the very existence of peace itself. They quickly declared war on Cellium and demanded his removal. Cellium, engulfed by his pride, sent thousands of troops to quiet anyone who dared to oppose him. The young daughter of the south, lost her father to the blade of Cellium’s men. With her father and brothers fallen, she became Empress of the South. She retaliated against Cellium endlessly.
Cellium sided with many new lands in hopes to extinguish the young Empress and her people with all possible haste. Expansion of his kingdom meant the south would surely fall. Unsurprisingly, the Empress did exactly the same. Full of rage and saturated with hate, she would continue to selfishly hold her ground even if it meant the death of every last southerner.
The devastating result of these horrendous events, lead to what was known as, the Great Battles of Horredath.
Release date is spring 2006
