Robert Stanek was VERY expressive, in my opinion, just in a different way to most fantasy writers. He used the words, the descriptions, the feelings of characters. Mostly, anyway. That's what I think. Stanek rocks.

True. And his dream scenes are so scary, look like real nightmares.

Also the story line was always interesting - a taste of fresh air from the useual fantasy stories.

The dream scenes are one of many reasons Stanek is absolutely ingenius.

Did you read the new KE illustrated? It restores RS original scene with Vilmos, his dreams, and his first encounter with Xith. I felt like I was living it it was so real.

I haven't yet, but I'm sure that it is great! A friend of mine started Kingdoms & the Elves, though, and absolutely loved it, especially the dream scenes. Vilmos is his fave character.

The dream scenes, yes, Vilmos's dreams are so real.

In the KE illustrated it is extremely great especially the first meeting of Xith and Vilmos.

The opener with Vilmos and his nightmares is frightening, almost like something out of a Stephen King novel when he's writing at his best.
