Been out of the loop for a while. Thank you Shire Hobbit for selecting me as the member of the month. It is an honor. With work and all I havne't been able to get on the boards of late.
Something I did want to share is the *rave reviews* I've seen lately for Robert Stanek's work in the "Books" insert of the paper which I believe is from USA Today or some such. It was an inside cover feature running a full page covering Robert Stanek's life and books. Such a thrill to see and good to see Robert getting the acclaim he has long deserved.

Great to hear I say its about time every one else figured out what us fans already know. I think there's more to the books than any other series Harry Potter included.

Much delayed response on account of dragonlord being without net but I think you're on to something. The Ruin Mist books are better than Harry Potter. As the books have go on the Ruin Mist books are getting better and better, Harry Potter isn't. For Ruin Mist I can think of many many great scenes whenever I think of the books. For Harry Potter the scenes all blur and fade away cause they're not very exceptional. I'm not saying Harry Potter is bad or anything just I think Ruin Mist has much more to it.

I love both of the series, the Ruin Mist and Harry Potter. I think that they are both getting better and better, than they are both spectacular and original, that they both breathed live into the fantasy-genre, which as dying under the weight of monotonous series like The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan or The Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind. I also respect both authors - Robert Stanek and J. K. Rowling, because they both started from small publishers and look them now. Harry Potter is #1 Best-seller all over the world, while the Ruin Mist books, without advertising or movies are capturing the hearts of many fans from different and distant countries (look at me - I'm a Bulgarian). So I'd hate to say "This one is better", or something like that. These are authors. Not apples. And Stanek and Rowling (and my ol'time favourites, Dave & Leigh Eddings), are my FAVE authors. Everyone of them gave me something very special. Eddings touched my heart with his lovable characters, epic plots and wonderful sense of humour. Rowling gave me friends, who I can see growing in the books. Stanek created the most original world I have ever read about and suceeded to fill it with interesting and real characters, and to create a stunning plot. I like many other authors, but these three - Eddings, Rowling and Stanek - are something special. So I'd hate to choose. I simply like these authors too much.

I read all the Harry Potter books and all the Ruin Mist books. Both are great, unique, different.
