I'm really enjoying the RMC so far...He's a very descriptive writer, where he should be. Whoever said about being thankful for no braid pulling I'm right there with you. That's referring to all the braid pulling in Wheel of Time in case anyone is wondering. Sometimes I wish I knew more about the history of it all seem very integral to the story. Overall though, the book is really compelling and very well-written... I'm on to the next one.

WoT is well done in my opinion. You can't say Robert Jordan doesn't have talent. The details are what got me to start reading WoT granted after a few books it gets old. I think that's why RS is so popular he's a refreshing change of pace from author who describe every blade of grass and every braid pull. Change is good!

Mate, Harry Potter in UK is adult and kids versions. Near as I tell the only difference in Harry Potter version is the cover. Guess adults don't want to read version with kiddie covers. If I had to guess on KE Id say some of the violence has been edited out of the KE versions. I like the KE books myself. The new editions at 5 quid are a good buy.

What's wrong with Wheel of time? Like I said before Ruin Mist Chronicles is my second favorite series next to Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. If i had a third favorite itd probalby be Wheel of Time. Still working on my goal to read everything Tolkien and Stanek wrote. Getting there is so much fun!

I don't think anyones saying there's anything wrong with Wheel of Time per se just that it's over descriptive and repetitive. I agree Robert Stanek uses an economy of description to good effect. Ruin Mist Chronicles is my favorite series, don't think it takes a back seat to any fantasy out there. My opinon of course.

The characters are fascinating and you go really into the book when reading it. RS has a way of making you keep reading and never want to stop. Like my favorite part in the whole fist book was when Emel and Adrina met the lady of the forest. More over, I liked how I could relate to Adrina and how her life in the beging wasn't going so well but she always kept her head up.

Don't get why people don't like Wheel of Time maybe its cuz I only read 3 books so far but it is very good to me. Very big on agreement that RS is a refreshing change of pace after reading so many doorstopper fantasies.
mct what tolkien books have you read?

For Tolkien I've read The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, The Silmarillion, working my way through the History of Middle Earth.
For Stanek I've read Keeper Martin's Tale, Elf Queen's Quest, Kingdom Alliance, Sovereign Rule and next up is Magic Lands which Ive been hearing so much about.
